We rented out a private cruise for a bachelorette. Communication was great leading up to our cruise everyone helpful answering all of my questions. Neil was a great captain and we all had a great time cruising around the bay despite the weather!

This was a cute little boating experience. Our captain was friendly and helped us have a good time, despite the rainy weather. We hooked up our music and brought some drinks to enjoy. I had hoped we could have seen a bit more of the bay or even the pretty landscape of Portland. But rather, we mostly cruised down a river with sub-par views. However, we saw so many seals! Great experience for those looking to kick back and have a fun time on the water. Might avoid if you are looking for more of a sight-seeing experience.

Worth it? Absolutely. Here's a secret: you may not have to peddle as much as you think. ;) Great way to see the beautiful bay. Would do it again next time I'm in town.

Maine bay cycle was the best part of our bachelorette party! Our 1.5 hour tour did not disappoint! Neil was so accommodating when I accidentally booked for the wrong weekend! Being able to bring drinks and our own playlist was great. I would 10/10 recommend taking a tour while in Portland.

Author: cjh02060 | Date: 5/30/2022 | Source: tripadvisor | Rating: 5 stars

We had a blast on the 7pm cruise! There were 12 of us and we chose the "booze cruise" option, which means that there is already booze on the boat so you can just walk on. The evening sky was perfect and the captain was nice and accommodating. I am definitely going to take work clients on this trip next time.

Author: Paul Lewin | Date: 11/5/2021 | Source: google | Rating: 5 stars

My company booked this vessel for a team outing of a dozen people and had a wonderful experience! Our captain was all-around amazing from start to finish; he fielded our questions prior to booking and then made special accomodations for us to drop off our drinks a day ahead so that we didn't have to lug a cooler around downtown Portland the day of the event. I would definitely recommend this as a fabulous summer outing for groups. Thanks Captain Neil!

Had the best time for my sisters bachelorette!!! Highly recommend!!!

Author: Karina T | Date: 11/5/2021 | Source: google | Rating: 5 stars

Maine BayCycle was a great experience! I booked for a bachelorette and the novelty of pedalling was a blast, though people definitely get tired quickly. Thankfully there is a motor to get us to and from where we need to go. Captain Neil was a great host. We were able to brink our own drinks on board and could sync to the bluetooth to listen to whatever we wanted. Highly recommend for group events!

Author: Ashley Carleton | Date: 11/5/2021 | Source: google | Rating: 5 stars

Amazing experience with Baycycle for our Bachelorette group! I would recommend downloading playlist to your phone because Portland cell service is spotty!

Author: Danielle Sullo | Date: 11/5/2021 | Source: google | Rating: 5 stars

Neil (sorry if spelling is wrong), was amazing as our captain. We had so much fun touring around on the waters and saw a seal. Our bachelorette party all had a wonderful time and made the experience completely memorable. You dont have to pedal entire time..we certainly got lazy and just danced to the music lol. Thank you for having us and giving us recommendations on where to go after.

Author: Kellana Wheeler | Date: 11/5/2021 | Source: google | Rating: 5 stars

Great time! The owner/operator is very welcoming and friendly, and grew up in the area so had much to share! Pedaling was optional, but was fun to be able to attempt. Very relaxing and laid back cruise in the port. Definitely recommend!

My husband, daughter and son in law all enjoyed a fun, fun afternoon. The owner was friendly, played great music, and made everyone welcome. One person arrived a bit late but we went back and picked up the individual. Made for a bit of a longer trip but that was the good part, more fun!

From my first inquiry phone call to the day of our ride, the owner was super friendly and helpful with all of my needs/requests. The sunset tour was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I had a great time! We shared the tour with a group of other fun ladies and listened to some cool tunes while cruising around the bay. Neil was a super fun captain and we enjoyed his knowledge of the local area. We went on the 7 p.m. tour and saw a cloud-covered sunset, but the view of the city in the early evening light was still beautiful. I definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to be out on the water and having a good time.

Booked Bacycle for a Bachelorette party. Great way to see the harbor and get a little workout in. Boats are set up really well to accommodate your Byob drinks and have hooks for bags 👌 Our crew had so much fun and our captain, Neil, was great!

I set this up for my friends Bachelorette party and we are beyond happy with Maine BayCycle! 1- we were running a little late and the captain called me to confirm we were still coming BEFORE it was too late!!!! We were maybe 2 minutes behind and got on quickly once we arrived! 2- the set up is so cool, and even if you don’t know everyone on the boat you still have an absolute blast together! 3- the ride feels like it’s so much longer than an hour and a half!!!!!!! All in all I highly recommend this and can’t wait to go again for a date night!!!!!

The boat ride is fun, we had a group of 6 for a bachelorette and there was another bachelorette party (a bit larger, closer to 9 or 10) plus a couple on the boat with us. This is one of those activities where your overall group dynamic does matter and can influence the experience but we ultimately made friends with the couple and had a good time with them while the other group did their own thing. You do really have to peddle on the bikes, so be ready for that otherwise you just float in one area and don't end up moving around! Coolers are filled with ice and there are good size cup holders plus clips to hang onto any bags you bring along for the ride.

The BayCycle was the perfect way to end a fun weekend in Portland! The boat had coolers and trash cans. We were able to bring snacks and drinks aboard. The owner was so kind and friendly. We had the option to pedal or to sit back and enjoy the ride. Highly recommend this tour!

We used BayCycle on 7/14 for my sisters bachelorette weekend. Gorgeous day for a boat trip! Our guide was super cool and accommodating. There was plenty of space to put our drinks in the center table coolers. I was able to hook up my iPhone and play music throughout the boat ride. The only downfall was that there were only 10 bike seats. So my entire party was not able to sit and bike together, we had to switch off since there was additional group with us. So take turns biking!! But other than that it was lots of fun and would definitely recommend!!

We used Maine BayCycle for part of a bachelor's party on a Saturday morning and it was a great choice. Neil answered several pre-booking questions by email within an hour of me asking them, and when the day for our tour came, he was excellent. The boat is certainly a fun and unique experience that I'd encourage anyone who's interested in combining drinks with exercise to look into. It was perfect for our party of 12. Thanks for everything, Neil!

Maine BayCycle was beyond amazing. We took a trip up to Portland, ME for my sister's bachelorette and I was beyond impressed. They were very accommodating, great staff, and extremely fun. Captain Than was such a delight and if you're looking to have a great night out on the water with drinks and music, this is the thing to do. I can't say enough about it!

An excellent way to spend some time with friends or even people you don't know. Bring your own beer or wine (no liquor), snacks, music and pedal your way around Casco Bay. Don't expect lighthouses, etc., since the boat goes up the Fore River and not out to sea.

Author: nucenturion | Date: 6/17/2019 | Source: tripadvisor | Rating: 5 stars

Such big fun! The boat holds 15 people and 10 can pedal at a time. You bring snacks and drinks and have a 90 minute trip around an industrial part of Casco Bay. I thought we'd tour a more scenic area, but it was not to be. It's still a fine ride, especially if there are fun people with you. Strangers become friends for sure. We saw seals' heads peeping out of the bay, pretty exciting! But don't forget to USE A BATHROOM before boarding: all that's on the boat is a bucket!

Author: cootmom | Date: 9/9/2018 | Source: tripadvisor | Rating: 5 stars

We chartered the boat to kick out my sisters bachelorette weekend in town. It was so much fun. Than, our captain, was great is helping us take photos and letting us play whatever music on the boat. We saw seals right off the peir! It was an amazing start to the weekend everyone loved it. If there was a bathroom we would have never come in. The biking is not hard at all we had a group of nine and it was merely just keep the pedals going. There is also a nice cushioned bench on the front of the boat to break and plenty of space to walk around. The weather was perfect for Aug 25th the shaded cover definitely helps in staying cool and a breeze off the water. If we didn't have the cover I think everyone would have been too hot.Thank You!

Time goes by so fast on Maine Baycyle. Second time out, have gone with family and friends. Even saw a seals! Captain was friendly and helped make it a great experience. Get to pick your own music, get to see how fast we could make the boat go while peddling, get to bring our own snack and beverages. CHEERS to a great time on the boat!

I went on Maine BayCycle for the first time a few years ago when it first opened, and had the best experience, but last night sealed the deal for us as we did the evening tour for my wife's birthday party. We were a total of 14 people, including our group of 7, and had the best time out on the ocean with our Captain. The experience is something you could never get from any other boat tour or water activity in Portland, a private tour of the Portland harbor and a view to die for, with the wonderful ocean breeze, your own beverages chilling in the ice box on the bar where you sit and a great way to meet new people as well as reacquaint with your old friends as you pedal through casco bay. We had brought snacks as well as our beverages, but we were too busy chatting with our captain and new friends to even eat, and I can honestly not wait to go back again - maybe next time with my co-workers for a daytime team building event.

Great for a large group and laid back - which was important when trying to manage a party of 8 people. Driver was friendly and let us take the lead on music options.

Author: Lori N | Date: 8/7/2018 | Source: tripadvisor | Rating: 4 stars

This was a super nice and laid back activity. Pickup is nice and straightforward and the one rule to follow is basically don't jump off the boat. (There were a couple seals in the water as well)Owner is very nice and the boat setup is basically a bar with pedals. You can bring snacks and drinks which you can store in ice chests right in the bar. Someone can also bring a phone and play Spotify or any music tunes and have a good time.Dress accordingly as biking for 90 minutes can be a good workout, especially on a 90 degree summer day. Overall, highly recommended for friends, family, and party groups!

I live in Portland and was hosting a group of 6 girls here for the weekend. We do this "reunion" annually and try something new each year. This was a great way to spend some time out on the water. Neil was a great captain and I recommend this highly. Great views of the city, fun atmosphere (you can DJ your ride), perfect back drop for enjoying local beers. Everyone on board was chatty and fun. Super fun excursion that we all would do again.

We had a large group of us, 12, and it was the best time of our whole trip! It was wild and the captain didn’t mind at all! We loved being able to bring our own drinks. We even asked if we could pay for another half hour so we could do it longer but unfortunately the time slots with the next group was too close. Best time ever!

We were very impressed and had a memorable evening peddling out in Casco Bay! I got my dad a gift certificate for Father's Day (very easy to buy and redeem) and we had been waiting for the perfect weather to go. We were the only ones signed up for the 5pm cruise, but Neil contacted us and we easily switched to the 7pm and joined another small group. Seemed like Tuesday and Wednesday are typically smaller, local groups. Even though there were only 6 of us, we were able to comfortably peddle our way around. Neil has a motor if the group is not up for peddling, however, we felt it really didn't take much effort to move the boat. Bring your own drinks and music and enjoy the ride! Even better if you can catch good weather and a sunset. We will be back!

Captain Neil and our peddle boat experience exceeded our expectations for our bachelorette outing! Neil is so wonderful - professional and down to earth! The boat is so unique - a great way to get outside and see Portland from the water !

This boat is a great time and a fantastic thing to do while in town. We were a group of 9 out for a bachelor party and it was a great experience. The captain was courteous, professional and fun and the other people on the boat with us helped make the experience even better. The coolers on board were convenient and fit all our drinks easily. Catching awesome weather perfected the already enjoyable time. One thing to note, there are only 10 seats on the boat for peddling and they book it for 15 people. This didn’t detract from the fun at all (in fact it was good because not everyone wants to peddle all the time and there are benches to sit down on), but wanted to note that.

My family and I had a fantastic time on our Maine BayCycle cruise. They are easy to find on the dock in the Old Port and we got to cruise out under the Casco Bay Bridge and see a different section of the waterfront area. You bring your own music, load up the cooler on board which is stocked with ice and you can have your snacks right there as well. Neil was great company and fun was had by all! I'd definitely recommend.

A great way for a team to get together, have some fun, work as a team to move the boat and get to know each other. We had a blast! We also got to see some seals playing in the water which was an added bonus.

Author: Nichole D | Date: 8/31/2017 | Source: tripadvisor | Rating: 5 stars

The BayCycle was a fun way to get out on the water. We were disappointed at first when we arrived and all of the bicycle seats were occupied by a bachelorette party. We sat on the benches in the back of the boat and sort of felt like uninvited guests. However, we were lucky that they were very nice and rotated out so we could get a turn as well. You don't go fast at all and sort of just float around, so if you get sea sick at all, definitely take a dramamine! Fun, unique experience that I'd recommend.

I saw an add or post on Facebook for Maine BayCycle and thought it looked like a fun time - before I knew it, me and 13 of my friends booked our trip! I cannot say enough good things about this excursion! Captain Neil is laid back and the scenery is amazing! We had a curious seal follow us around the bay which was an added bonus. The boat itself is very accommodating with a covering for shade and adjustable bike seats, a cooler in the middle of the table with ice provided for your favorite beverages to stay cold, and the ability to plug in your mobile device to listen to your favorite tunes!!! Do you have to pedal to get yourself around the coastline....nope! But its nice to have the option to burn some calories if you want! I highly recommend this attraction and I cannot wait until we book another trip with Maine BayCycle!!!

Neil and his team of one are all you need to have a great time added to the wonderful sights and culture of Portland. Expect pedaling, coasting, floating, laughing and imbibing. From the deck we got to view the busy port full of yachts, tankers, ferries, sailboats, birds and seals. Neil has a wealth of knowledge about the area, boating and how to have a great time. I highly recommend this experience!

Went to Portland for a friend's 25th Birthday. We Surprised her with the Bay Cycle. We had an absolute blast. We did the 5:00 trip with Neil, and were joined by a bachelorette party. The pedaling was difficult at times but the current took over most of the time. I would definitely recommend this to Portland visitors. Thank you to Neil and the Bay Cycle team!!!

We did Maine Baycycle for my friend's bachelorette party! There was 12 of us and we all had a blast! We were able to hook up our phones/iPods to the speaker system - which our group loved. I definitely recommend this for a large group as an inexpensive and fun outing!

We had a blast on the Maine Baycycle! Great tunes, great people, great time! Neil was super helpful getting back to us when trying to plan in advance. The sunset was magnificent! Neil said we were going at a good clip at about 3.4 knots, now I'm not a boat person but it felt to me more like 10+ knots...just kidding. I may have miscalculated the preparation hiking up and down the Great Vermont Corn Maze got me in for pedaling the Baycycle. It was not hard, but in my enthusiasm I may have overexerted my glutes which were sore the next day. It didn't damper any of the fun, I just might go a little easier next time. We went out with two of our friends who are Portland residents and they loved it too! Fantastic ride and one of our favorite parts of this trip - highly recommend!
